Conditioning needs to be approached with a holistic mindset. That means remember that no matter which position a player is in, they need their whole body conditioned. Sprints, crutches and bench presses are healthy for all players. Just because a kid is going to be on the pitching mound does not mean that all they have to do is throw practice pitches. If the kid’s lower body is not strong enough, they can be hurt. Pitching, just like every other position in baseball, requires cooperation from the entire body.

While baseball players are on vacation, they need to stay healthy. This means that they must also watch their diets. Foods that are high in fat, slow the body down, and are not good for the body is generally not eaten in large quantities. Players must also monitor their alcohol intake. This can help a player stay in shape for training camps that will begin at the beginning of winter. Players will be allowed to choose which exercises they want to focus on during their time off, but they must maintain a schedule. Many players will use the team’s gym or they have home gyms. This can make exercising more convenient when they are on vacation.
