Make Money with Online Cards – Become a Poker Affiliate

Truth be told, not everyone wins when they play poker online.  Sure, there are several players who can turn a profit from gambling sites, but the vast majority of players wind up losing money.  One way to win with online poker is to become a Poker Affiliate.  This way, players’ losses are your gain.

An affiliate is someone who uses their personal or business-related websites to post other companies’ ads.  The profit is achieved from website visitors clicking on the ads.  A tracking system recognizes where the visitor originated from, and the website is credited with a hit.  For example, if a visitor to a website for books sees a banner for a gambling site and clicks on the banner, the gambling website will recognize that the visitor originally started with the book website, and will credit the book site accordingly.

The payments for affiliate programs vary.  Some companies pay out for simple clicks like the one described above, while other companies only pay out to affiliates if the visitor spends some money.  Poker Affiliates have the opportunity to sign up for programs which allow them to earn a percentage of a visitor’s losses, thereby sharing the profit with the gambling website.  The more visitors stemming from the affiliate’s website, the more chances there are for an income from the ad.

Affiliate programs are a win-win situation for the gambling sites.  Not only do the sites not have to pay for advertising outright, but also the extra exposure is great even if visitors don’t use the link right away.  The ad may stick in the mind of some people, and further down the road when they are ready to try their hands at online poker games they may remember the name of the gambling site they saw and type it directly from a search engine.  This sort of situation results in the gambling site not having to share any portion of the profits.

Affiliates can make a profit using these sorts of programs since one the ads are in place there is generally no upkeep necessary.  It would be best, however, to only pepper a website with a few choice ads which the Webmaster personally endorses.  A website chock full of ads in an attempt to earn maximum profit from affiliate programs will simply result in nothing more than a cluttered website.  Besides, visitors would be more likely to click on an outgoing link if the link came complete with a brief endorsement from the Webmaster…something like “when I play poker online, I really enjoy this particular site because the play is fast paced and fun!” Many people are apprehensive to begin with when it comes to searching unfamiliar sites, and something like a shining endorsement like this one might make people feel a little more at ease.  Also, ads placed on websites should be pertinent to the site; a website designed to help people balance their budgets probably shouldn’t have an ad for a poker site on it as this is just plain tacky.

How much money can a Poker Affiliate make? If affiliate websites are to be believed then the amounts can be enough to keep an affiliate stocked in convertibles and fancy houses, but the truth of the matter is that the vast majority of Poker Affiliates won’t see a huge profit from this sort of program.  Some affiliates won’t see any sort of profit whatsoever.  To be a successful Poker Affiliate you need to maintain the sort of website which will bring a steady stream of visitors who happen to be interested in online poker.  Don’t think that you can create any old website, smack a bunch of online poker ads on it, and then sit back while the checks roll in.  It simply doesn’t work that way.

If done properly, Poker Affiliate programs can turn websites into moneymaking ventures.  Gambling sites win; Poker Affiliates win…the only loser in this equation is the player who loses money.  The beauty of the situation for affiliates is that the more money the player loses the more profit the affiliate will come away with.  If this doesn’t make you lose sleep, then a Poker Affiliate program may be just the thing for your website.
